Data Protection and the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

This course is aimed at all managers, supervisors and trustees with responsibility for data protection and confidentiality and the implementation of the new procedures.

Course content

Firstly we check how your Data Protection practices compare with the 8 Data Protection principles - should you be doing more to ensure confidentiality and your reputation?  This course then looks at the changes the new Regulations brought in (May 2018) and we consider their impact on your organisation's practices and procedures. We explore implementations options and help you devise an action plan so you will be able to prove compliance with GDPR.  The new Regulations come into force in May 2018 and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) will be looking for action towards compliance from all organisations from then.
