Trainer: Sarah Moss, voluntary organisation support officer at Community Action.

Friendly introduction to applying for small grants (up to £10,000). Suitable for staff, volunteers and committee members/ trustees who would like to gain confidence and knowledge around fundraising. No knowledge or experience needed, we’re covering the basics so bring your questions!  Subsidised fee for small charitable organisations.

We'll discuss:

  • What grant funders look for and why.
  • How to choose the right funder for your project.
  • Alternatives to grant funding for small projects.
  • How to write a good small grants application.
  • Why applications are rejected and problems you might encounter.

We'll use the Lottery small grants scheme Awards for All as an example for group discussion and exercises to help you put these topics into practice.

Learn from example completed bids to help you write an application that funders can say yes to!
