First Aid Annual Skills Update Half Day 6th February 2020

This half day (3 hours) course, recommended by HSE provides the first Aider with an opportunity to practice their first aid during their 3 year qualification period.

Who should attend?

This course is intended for all those holding a First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work (Appointed Persons) qualification.

Why attend?

This course will reinforce skills currently held and build on existing knowledge/confidence which both rapidly deteriorate without use.

Practical course covering how to

  • Communication and casualty care.
  • Managing an incident.
  • Looking after yourself and the casualty.
  • Adult, child and infant resuscitation.
  • Treatment of severe bleeding, chest pain and an unconscious casualty.
  • Treatment of choking in adults, children and infants

Minimum age 16

Parking is very difficult at the University.  We advise arriving by public transport or parking in the city centre.
