Adult Mental Health First Aid 2 Day - 13th-14th July 2021

Registration is closed for this event

Our Adult MHFA two-day course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider.

Please note, masks must be worn throughout the training. On arrival to Campus, please go to Richmond Building reception (if driving please park in the visitor car park to the side of the building). There you will be given a parking permit if required and a visitor permit. You will then be given directions to the Great Hall where you will have a lateral flow Covid-19 test. After the test, please go to the training room.

This course will provide:

  • An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix

What to expect

Learning takes place across four manageable sessions. Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan.

Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • A manual to refer to whenever you need it
  • A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health
  • A certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider

Read our Cancellation Policy for First Aid Courses (please note this is different to the policy for our other programme courses).

Please find the COVID-19 secure document for all First Aid courses.

Parking is very difficult at the University.  We advise arriving by public transport or parking in the city centre.
