This 2 hour workshop will cover the types of legal structures that are suitable for community groups/individuals.This brief introduction will cover the advantages and disadvantages of each model. 

Such as:

  • CIO - Charitable Incorporated Orgnisations
  • LLP - Limited Liability Partnership
  • CLG - Company Limited by Guarantee
  • CA - Community Associations
  • CIC - Community Interest Company
  • CASC - Community Amateur Sports Club

Code of Governance:

  • Understanding their role
  • Exercise effective control
  • Work as a team/individual

To be recognised as a charity:

  • Trustee responsibility 
  • Making collective decisions
  • What you need to apply for funding
  • Keeping good financial records
